Feels // Sappy

L2S119

Finnish producer Bob Citrus returns to L2S with even more 4×4 goodness! Taking a more “House-y” approach to the title track “Feels”, after dropping into a 90s inspired breakdown that would fit perfectly in any 90s warehouse party we are taken into an acid laden House voyage that will fit perfectly on dancefloors the world over with it’s insistent drums and tight production. “Sappy” keeps things more “Garage-y” with smooth organs, a deep dubbed out bassline and excellent Garage vocal work. This is a release all House & Garage fans will love.

Whistla – I Say EP

I Say // I Want You & Me // Suffering

L2S116

L2S boss and Sub FM head honcho Whistla returns with an EP of epic proportions. Title track “I Say” is a heavy, wobbling, gritty 2 step bass affair that will appeal to dubstep heads as well as 2 step skankers and has one of the best vocal samples you’re likely to hear this year “I say old boy that tunes a bit heavy”. “I Want You & Me” sees Whistla going all breakbeat with a twisted chopped up break riddim, growling bassline and a 2nd drop that harks back to the darkcore era before hardcore and jungle split. Finally is “Suffering”, where Whistla takies it back to the Garage sound he is probably most well known for, a slinky 2 Future Garage beat, ravey bass with big pads and twisted vocals, Don’t miss!

Insular // Paved With Gold // Sunday Morning

L2S115

L2S are delighted to welcome UK producer SPD to the label. Many will already be familiar with SPD from his previous releases on Bristol label Slime Recordings. For L2S he has delivered a deep ep full of garage meets dubstep beats and sub bass so low it’ll rattle your foundations! Title track “Insular” walks the fine line between dubstep and garage, with sleek drums, smooth keys and a cheeky “marijuana” sample that sets the tone for what is to follow. “Paved With Gold” follows with it’s almost ambient soundscaping and sparse “drifting in space” drums sure to appeal to the crew who like there music deeper than deep. To round off the ep “Sunday Morning” rolls with tight drums and silky pads to sooth the weary raver.
